Years Working Towards Language Revitalization: 22+

Selina Myers is a language champion for the Xeni Gwet'in Chilcotin language.

She is an Elder who has placed herself on the front-line by building her knowledge by attending workshops and training and networking with other immersion teachers, in order to provide our community school with training and education tools. She dedicates her time, energy, traditional and cultural knowledge, love and caring to the children.

Selina has worked in language immersion for twenty-two years. She has developed language materials and she teaches the Chilcotin immersion language. She is one of our Elders in the Xeni Gwet'in community who has knowledge of our traditions and culture, and she shares that knowledge with the youth and children in our community.

We appreciate the opportunity provided by the First Nations Education Steering Committee and First Peoples’ Heritage, Language & Cultural Council to recognize our Language Champion.

On Behalf Of Eniyud Health Services and Xeni Gwet'in First Nations we recognize and support Selina Myers as our Chilcotin Language Champion.
