Opportunities: 
Okanagan Indian Band is currently developing a Language Strategy that includes Sn'c'amala?tn Early Childhood Education Centre, OKIB's Cultural Immersion School, and Language Programs. Staff and parents are working as a volunteer group in language and cultural curriculum development. Snc'c'amala?tn has an Okanagan Language and Cultural Program dated 2004 that requires implementation. SD22 & OKIB is almost completed the Story of Our Ways project which includes language and cultural material resources. Two OKIB members, including Coordinator of the Language Nest have committed to attend the Syilx Language House Associations 4 year program twice a week with support from OKIB.
Challenges: 
Challenges continue to include high staff turnover, language proficiency of certified teachers and staff, and health and other challenges that impeded Elder involvement.
